In one of the most famous murders ever, the wife and two daughters of Army surgeon Jeffrey Macdonald were killed and Dr Macdonald was sent to prison for the crime. The murders were the subject of the famous book “Fatal Attaction” by Joe McGinniss. Later, the filmmaker Errol Morris became convinced that Dr Macdonald was innocent and wrote “A Wilderness of Error” in an attempt to prove his point. This documentary is not by Errol Morris, but instead is about the murders, the investigations and the competing narratives, including Joe McGinniss’s and Errol Morris’s books.
