Each season is a new show with a different cast, set at different points in time. The first two seasons were related in that the charming dad in one series was the same guy as the young police officer in another. All of the stories follow the formula developed by the movie – a hapless person out of their depth somehow becomes involved with dangerous criminal(s), leaving the local constabulary to figure out just what the heck is going on. Each season has fantastic actors (Martin Freeman! Carrie Coon! Mahershala Ali!)
