The first network comedy with a Native American showrunner and largely Native cast. This show originally focuses on Nathan Rutherford (Ed Helms), who is obsessed with the history of the town that bears his name and the history of his family. His best friend, Reagan Wells (Jana Schmiedling) is from the local tribe, but despite that, Nathan appears unable to recognize the negatives that happened to the tribe when his White ancestors arrived. The show explores the relationships between the Native Nation and the local town as Reagan gains her own voice and power while Nathan struggles to come to terms with what it really means that he continues to idolize his ancestors.
