Set in the present day, it turns out that magic is real. This show follows a group of students at Brakebills University, a graduate school for magicians. The first couple of seasons weren’t that enjoyable as the characters are self-centered, thoughtless and generally unpleasant. They blunder into mistake after mistake. Season 3 is a major turnaround as the characters grow and learn and set about in earnest to try to make things right, and that continues in subsequent seasons.
